two days ago, i went to the zoo. it felt like i went back to childhood times. haha. could not remember when was the last time i visited the zoo. should be primary school or maybe even pre-school! haha. really no recognition.
the sky was a little grey when me and cs reached the zoo. first stop was the parrots. while i was preparing to take a picture of the parrots, my camera ran out of battery. Zzz... unlucky. so we went out to buy battery at Cheers. never ever buy drinks or stuffs at the zoo okie. cos it is expensive and u would rather endure the thirst. haha. but kfc was alright. the price of the items were the same as what u see outside. after the parrots, we went to look at the otters. but sadly, none was around. apparently, a baby otter had just given birth. thus, most of the otter family would help in looking after the baby. next was the pygmy hippo. there are two types of hippo. a nile hippo and a pygmy hippo. the pygmy hippo is very much smaller compared to the nile hippo. thus, weighing much lighter then the normal ones. the weight of 1 nile hippo is equivalent to 10 pygmy hippo. in addition, one pygmy hippo is taller and heavier than i am. so can u imagine how big is those nile hippo?!?!
next is the magnificent white tiger. could not really get a nice picture of the white tiger as it was too far and only one of them was willing to look at the crowd and the rest would rather show their buttock. thus, we decided to head on to the australian outback. there were exhibits of snakes, cobras, kangaroos (all hiding under the shade) and emu. the size of a new born joey (kangaroo baby) in the mother kangaroo was only slightly smaller than a fetus. but too bad, someone had itchy hand thus the prototype of a joey was pull out. cs and i continued on and saw lots of different species of monkey. a couple that i remembered were the spider monkey that swing about with their tail hooking onto branches like spiderman, the proboscis monkey which have a very big nose, the lion tailed macaque cos of the white fur surrounding its face. thus making it looked like it is some wise monkey. those that u see in cartoons.. hee.
halfway through the walk, it started to drizzle. so we took shelter at the amphitheater just in time for the wonders of the wild show. During the show, i finally got to see the otter. it was really cute. apparently, the otter's job scope was to pick up the litter that we people threw on the floor. the way the otter throw the cans and bottles into a straw bin that was bigger than it was real cute. is as if the otter might drop into the bin anytime. ha.
after the show, both of us headed straight down to the penguin, sea lion section. only to know that their house was under renovation. *sobx...... one of the animals that we looking forward to see. Zzz.. all because of an upcoming new show that they would be introducing this saturday - Splash Safari Show.
in conclusion, basically did not took much photos. because most of the animals just have this habit of facing their back towards me. =.= but overall was a good trip cos its been a long time since i went to the zoo. looking forward to the next time. but maybe not that soon. haha.
